My Man Freddie!!!!

Wzup Fam!!! Ok today was a sad note but a good one. One of my influences has gone on to leave this earth....Freddie Hubbard! Man I gotta say first and foremost had it not been for my late music teacher Mr. John Magruder, I would probably would not know who this great musician/composer was. It's a sad note because he's gone but it's good one because as I see it in my head him and Mr. Mc G are up there playing together and hopefully there playing my favorite song "Little Sunflower". This is one of my favorites by Freddie. He will be missed greatly. I want everyone to sit back and listen to song posted below. As you listen just close your eyes and get away for a moment in your mind. For my jazz heads just picture Freddie blowing this song. For me It's Freddie on bugle horn and Mc G on flute. Play on yall!!!

Jury Duty

Man today started off cool, but then I forgot I had to do Jury Duty. So I finish yogging(big guys don't jog we yog)and I go to my truck and look for the paperwork. Yes I left the ish at home!!!! So I had to call my Wifee(thanks again D)to bring it to me!! So I get there just in time to park the burban and I hop out just in time to catch the elevator with nice looking Cambodian girl(I asked her). I followed her around the front because there was this super duper big line wrapped around the building. So we dashed to the security at the front(cause we both running late) and get to the jury room where there is like 200 people chilling. This dude is up talking about all the ish that is in the pamphlet, but you know how that goes. So he explained that there are some computers with Internet and without. So of course everybody flocks to the Internet ones. So I mosey on over to the super old one and play solitaire like 50 hands of it. So while I'm playing I'm scanning the room and noticed this dude who like twice my size(that was a big ole dude cause I'm big guy but good Lawd!!) man this dude must have either just got off work or he got the sleeping disease because he snoring loud as hell, I mean I thought he was going to suck the paint of the walls. Anyway the day gets even more interested because the Head dude does roll call. Man everything was cool until he called out "Mary Lamb" man I had to hold my laughter, then he said "Joe Jackson" I was about to laugh but I remembered how Joe used beat the Hell out Tito and them(except for Michael..things that make you go hmmmm would this dude be in as much trouble if Joe had beat his behind too??) So we go break after the roll call, I got to chance to get some pretty tasty Oatmeal and Cheese Omelet. Get back to the room and continue to waste away when he finally says the best words of the day.......You Are Dismissed!!!! Man I couldn't get out fast enough. But then the Elevator was tripping and took us up to the 11Th floor. Man I was not trying to stay. I'm glad my civil duty is over!!!!

The Last Sunday In 2008

This morning when I woke up and I get into my usual routine for Sunday morning(take the morning load off, take a shower, iron clothes and get the ipod ready) I realize that this is the last Sunday in the year of 2008. As I look back at the year I it was good, no real regrets. I'm thankful that I'm still here and that God is allowing me to doing what I do. Okay so now on to church, the first service was kinda shaky I must admit because of the music and yes I take the blame I should have had my musicians better equipped for today but hey it is what it is. So we get through the first service and we rehearse in between services. The rehearsal helped the second service was much better. After service I stop by one of my favorite all time cheap spots Taco Bell on 2nd St in the LBC. I was rushing to get home to see my 49ers play and ain't bout a itch they were showing the Cowboys get the behinds wipped by Philly. It's all good my Niners still won, so I now I'll just wait to see the Lakers do.
